Owner | Lead Behavioural Specialist
Brett is the owner and Lead Behavioural Specialist at BOSS Co. Dog Training & Boarding, bringing more than 15 years of experience working with dogs and their families. As a Professional Certified Dog Trainer and Behaviour Therapist, he works with everything from obedience to complex behavioural concerns including reactivity, fear, anxiety and aggression.
Brett’s passion lies in understanding the root cause behind a dog’s behaviour, rather than simply addressing what is happening on the surface. He considers each dog’s behaviour, emotional state, environment, history and relationship with their family when developing a personalized training plan.
His approach is practical, thoughtful and focused on lasting progress. Whether working through a complex behavioural case, helping a family better understand their dog, or supporting one of BOSS Co.’s training programs, Brett gives dogs and owners the tools they need to succeed.
For Brett, successful training is about understanding the dog in front of you, strengthening the dog-owner relationship and creating positive changes that carry into everyday life.
Sara Young
Co-Owner | Business ManagerÂ
Sara is the organizational force behind the day-to-day operations of BOSS Co. Dog Training & Boarding. With a background in business management and sales, she oversees much of the client experience, including marketing, customer service, scheduling, administration and daily business operations, while also jumping in to support the kennel team whenever needed.
Sara has been an integral part of BOSS Co. from the beginning. Alongside her husband, Brett, she made the decision to step away from the corporate world, take a chance on a shared vision and build the business from the ground up. What began as a passion and an idea has grown into a family-owned business they are incredibly proud of.
Today, Sara helps ensure clients feel welcomed, informed and supported from their first inquiry through training, boarding and beyond. She also works behind the scenes to keep the many moving pieces of BOSS Co. running smoothly.
Sara and Brett’s children have grown up alongside the business and love getting involved, helping around the property and, of course, spending plenty of time playing with and loving the dogs in their care.
Lynnette Gerber
Obedience Trainer | Kennel Operator
Lynnette combines two of her greatest passions — teaching and dogs — in her role at BOSS Co. Dog Training & Boarding. A retired school teacher, she brings years of experience in education, along with patience, encouragement and a love of helping others learn.
At BOSS Co., Lynnette teaches obedience classes and supports the kennel team several days each week, working hands-on with dogs of different ages, personalities and training needs.
A lifelong dog lover and owner, Lynnette is currently working toward her Professional Dog Training certifications while continuing to expand her knowledge and experience with the BOSS Co. team.
Her warm and encouraging teaching style helps owners feel comfortable and confident while developing practical skills with their dogs.
Outside of BOSS Co., Lynnette enjoys spending time with her two dogs, Luna and Lola, who continue to inspire her love of dogs and training.
