Sterling’s Story: From Reactivity to Confidence

Sterling’s transformation is one we’re incredibly proud of.

When Sterling first came to BOSS Co., he was struggling with conflict-induced aggression and uncertainty around both people and other dogs. Walks had become stressful and unpredictable, with barking, lunging, foaming and pulling on leash. At home, he also had difficulty settling, with frequent barking at windows and challenges relaxing.

His family was looking for support, structure and a clearer path forward.

Building Clarity, Structure and Confidence

Sterling began with our two-week Board & Train program, where we focused on helping him build confidence, improve communication and develop more predictable patterns of behaviour.

He made significant progress during his stay, but the work did not end when he went home.

Consistency from Sterling’s family has played an important role in continuing that progress.

Continuing the Work

Since completing Board & Train, Sterling has continued building on those foundations.

He has now:

  • Completed Level One Obedience
  • Enrolled in Level Two Obedience
  • Participates in Day Boarding twice a week
  • Is working toward integration into our Green Group

His progress is a great example of what can happen when professional training is paired with consistency and commitment at home.

What Sterling’s Family Had to Say

In a recent Google review, Sterling’s family shared that they saw a dramatic improvement in his reactivity after the program. They also noted that walks, which had previously felt stressful and unpredictable, had become much more manageable and that they felt more confident moving forward.

They described Brett and Sara as professional, knowledgeable and passionate about their work, and recommended BOSS Co. to other families dealing with reactivity or behavioural challenges.

Progress Is a Process

Sterling’s journey is not about a quick fix. It is about helping a dog learn new patterns, giving owners practical tools and continuing to build on those skills over time.

We’re excited to see Sterling continue to grow.
